Introduction


Since the beginning of 2006, China's bus and coach market has been in good situation on the whole and has maintained a fast growth tendency, enjoying the greatest prosperity ever over recent years.In 2006, total units of production and sales of buses and coaches have been reached 301.8 thousand and 297.6 respectively, up 8.64% and 6.29% over the same period.Major enterprises in this industry continued to be main force leading the market growth in the year.In 2006, the sales to date of 15 enterprises have been exceeding 5,000 units, 239.2 thousand units in total, accounting for 80% of the total sales units in this market.Regionally speaking, in 2006, the East China topped the list with total sales of 78.9 thousand units, though dropped markedly by 12.08% over 2005; the North China enjoyed a growth and the sales reached 45.5 thousand units; the sales decrease in Mid-South China has slowed down by 6.27% over 2005 and 44.2 thousand units were sold, down 11.43% over 2005.
